The basis of the present volume consists of the proceedings of a workshop initially dedicated to Hunting in Northern Europe AD 500-1500. Old Traditions, Regional Developments and Foreign Influences. The aim of this interdisciplinary and international workshop was to gather together researches working in the social significance of huntin throughout pre-and protohistoric times in northern and central Europe.

Oliver Grimm

Dr. Oliver Grimm ist seit 2008 am Zentrum für Baltische und Skandinavische Archäologie (ZBSA) in Schleswig tätig. Schwerpunkt auf Nordeuropa für die Zeit vom 1.-15. Jh.n.Chr. Veranstalter unterschiedlicher Workshops am ZBSA, in Zusammenarbeit mit anderen, darunter einer zur Jagdgeschichte in Nord- und Mitteleuropa allgemein und zwei weitere zu Falknerei und ihrer Geschichte, in sehr breit gefächerter Form für Europa und darüber hinaus.
